Young Adult Book Review - Looking for a Good Book - Got One for You!

Why would I, a writer myself of much more contemporary works invite a young adult to read a book that was written in 1955? Well, the answer to that question is fairly simple, because it is the kind of book that captures that attention and spirit of a young reader and one whose message, through its fast paced and most intriguing storyline will indeed, captivate the imagination. A book whose beginning, middle and end, will be remembered and whose subtle message not forgotten.
What is this most excellent find and great work, that I go out of my busy way and eventful day to recommend to you? Well, the book was also made into a major motion picture and secured an award winning director and some super talented actors; this book of course is none other than:
"The Talented Mr. Ripley" by Patricia Highsmith - first written in 1955, this book copyright 1995 by Vintage Books, division of Random House.
Perhaps you have seen this movie with Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow? If not, that's okay, because the book is even better. You will be riveted to your seat, unable to take a potty break or even able to think about food or sleep once you start this novel. Patricia Highsmith has written well over 40 books and 25 short stories and is one of the greatest novelists and storytellers of our time, and after you read this work, you will certainly understand why. Now then, although I recommend this book to the specific target audience of young adults, I do recommend the movie to all.
